Monica went into labor at 4:15 a.m. Friday morning, and her water broke at 4:50. After Del & Donna arrived to watch Elizabeth & Maia, we headed off to Stanford hospital. Monica labored hard for 4 or 5 hours. Above, she's collecting herself between contractions.

After a while, Monica got two epidurals (the first one didn't work) and things seemed to be moving along. However, the epidurals seemed to slow things down. While discussing whether it was time to do a c-section for lack of progress, Will decided to cut the conversation short by dropping his heartbeat low enough, and for long enough, to attract *everyone's* attention. In very short order, Monica was prepped and ready for surgery.

C-sections are a bit gory, but here Will makes his first appearance as he is being pulled out of Monica.

Fully out in the world, Will is already hollering.

Smile for the camera...

A quick visit with mom. Very shortly thereafter, Will's labored breathing caused him to be quickly sent down to the neonatal intensive care unit.

All plugged up, Will is doing well. By Saturday afternoon, most of the tubes would be gone.
